TURKEY TALK WITH THE AUTHOR’S SPOKESPERSON

Questions that have been forwarded to The Author concerning “The Industrious Godowner”:

Q:  Didn't we see gods treated with flippancy in Hercules, The Legendary Journeys? Is your tale derivative in premise and modus, ?
A:  “Multiple sighs. Again... the modern incarnation of Wine & Seizures can instantly be shown to have preceded all the 1990s excitement by a couple of decades. Not that it matters. NOT THAT A MEEK MAN'S BLOOD, TOIL & TEARS should matter to anyone. Incidentally, Hercules--which offered some entertaining episodes-- came forth with a character called Taco, or Nacho... reminiscent of Wine & Seizures's The Three Brothers, who coveted not their neighbors' tostados, but kept each unto his own tostado alone. Perhaps that anachronistic chuckle is derivative; talk to the Herc people. Pray, sheathe this false sword, stir me neither to fracas."

Q: If you don't mind my observing, "Nessassiny the Mother of Envincius" sounds awfully like "necessity is the mother of invention."
A:  “Seriously? You wouldn't josh a fellow, set him a spread at the table of untruth?"

Q:  Can you really make beer from lentils?
A:
“No. But apparently somebody can."

Q:  Isn't it a bit much that Siriul Merta could physically drink two drums of beer?
A:
“Yes. And untranslated texts suggest he was also quite a horse in the sack."

Q: Sexism seems to manifest now and then in the Wine & Seizures nebula. On the other hand, perhaps it's simply an aspect of an encompassing "peopleism," as neither sex fares particularly well. But there's always the question whether a work simply portrays or in fact culpably indulges in sexist expression.
A:
“No s*x. The book seems reasonably clean, for the most part."

Q: My group was debating the significance of Sarcastus in the story, which led to questioning the significance of any of the characters. What do you think the scribes would have us take from this record? Flawed characters are one thing, but what do we gain from portrayals of absolute lunatics?
A:
“I'd like to go back to the previous question for a moment. In "All You Need Is Love," the Beatles sang that "there's nothing you can see that isn't shown." Any morals must be drawn from what is seen; the presenter's motive is a separate issue. The original presenters lived eons ago. They were presenting not necessarily what they thought, but what they saw. I hope I've answered your penetrating question.
...As opposed to someone else's."

Q: Did you know Tolkien?
A:
“Tokin' John? Some of us knew him well. To say that I personally knew him lays a spin on how I've generally characterized our relationship-- which is to say, I've heard of him. Being deceased, he has almost certainly heard of me by now."

This has gone on far too long. The Author is exhausted. Please, it's no one's fault in particular. God has made him that way. We would ask you all to move out of the parlor now, and perhaps on another evening we will be forwarding more of your questions for his joyful deliberation. We'll let you know. Just leave your names in the jar by the door and a way for us to contact you. Thank you all very, very much, ladies and gentlemen. You have no idea how much this means. Thank you. Thank you. Gracias, Señorita. Danke, Herr Gieselstag. Merci, Madame de Beaureveau. Look, just get out now, will you? That's it... that's it... moving quickly. Good evening, all!
